Round Manaslu trekking is well loved trekking route among the trekkers as the region provides the perfect views of mountains, combination of rich cultural heritage, genuine adventure, incomparable beauty and biological variety. Mt. Manaslu [8163m] is the eight highest peaks in the world, but was opened for the trekking purpose only in 1992. Geographically, it is located between the Nepal and Tibet border. The name Manaslu means The spirit-mountain-- the local dialects refer it to be the benevolent and strong deity that dwells within. Therefore, the region has yet remained unexplored.

The foothills and lower valleys support paddy terraces while water buffalo still play their part in pulling the plough, providing milk and meat. The local homes dotted all around the hillsides are thatched and painted in the traditional manner.

Day 07:Ekkli Bhatti to Bihi (1990m) – 6 hrs

Day 09:Lihi to Samagompa (3,500m) - 6 hrs

Day 10:Rest at Samagaun

Day 11:Samagaun to Stone Hut –Samdo (4,500m) - 4 hrs

Day 12:Acclimatization and exploration day in Samdo

Day 13:Samdo to Dharamsala about 4 hours ( 4460M)

Day 14:Cross Larkya La (5,215m) and trek to Bhimphedi (3,590m) - 8 hrs

Day 15:Bhimphedi to Tilje (3,900m) - 5 hrs

Day 16:Tilje to Tal (1,725m) - 5 hrs

Day 17:Tal to Jagat (1,300m) - 5 hrs

Day 18:Jagat to Baundanda (1,275m) - 5 hrs

Day 19:Baundanda to Beshisahar - 5 hrs

Day 20:Drive back from Beshisahar to Kathmandu - 7 hrs

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu Transfer to Hotel and prepare for the next day's Round Manaslu Trek Overnight Accommodations: Hotel/Guesthouse

Day 02Drive to Arughat by private jeep (640m) - 8 hrs Your trekking staff will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning, from where we will head to Arughat, the starting point of the trekking. From Kathmandu to Dhading Bensi is a 3.5-hour comfortable drive after which there is a 4-hour bumpy and winding dirt road to Arughat. Overnight at tented camps. Day 03Arughat to Soti Khola (775m) - 5hrs Follow the Budhi Gandaki River towards its point of origin. We pass the village of Morder and Simre to reach the Arkhat River. After Arkhat we ascend slowly toward Kyoropani. Camp today.

Day 04Soti Khola to Machha Khola (900m) - 5.5 hrs The trail descends slowly until you climb again to mountain ridge to Almara. Pass the forest trail to arrive at Riden Gaon. The valley here cuts into another side of the river to enter Budhi Gandaki. At Lambesi, the trail follows down to the sandy river bed of Budhi Gandaki. Camp tonight at Machha River. Day 05Machha Khola to Jagat (1,340m) - 6 hrs After crossing Machha River and Khrola besi, there is a hot spring called Tatopani. The trail follows a forest, then reaching Dovan, below which flows the massive Budi Gandaki. As the elevation increases, the rapids and the scenery undergoes a complete transformation. Day 06Jagat to Ekkli Bhatti (1610m) - 5 hrs After ascending to a terraced hill of Saguleri and view of Sringi Himal (7,177m) we continue toward Sirish Gaon, Gandaki valley narrows from herewith soaring precipitous walls. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 07Ekkli Bhatti to Bihi (1990m) – 6 hrs Follow the trail upstream of Deng River - a tiny village of 4 houses. We walk through a newly built rock tunnel from here, thus avoiding the traditional steep climb towards to Ghap, the Tibetan culture begins with Mani stones and Chhortens all around. Day 08Bihi to Lihi (2920m) - 6 hrs After crossing the wooden bridge over Budhi Gandaki we follow the path lined with houses that are interspersed with cultivated fields. At Namru, there is a police check post again. After Namru, across the Hinan river originating from Linda Glacier and continue on to Sho. Naike peak, Manaslu north (7,774m) and Manaslu (8,150m) are visible from here.. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 09Lihi to Samagompa (3,500m) - 6 hrs You will pass the stone gate and long Mani stone wall of the village after Lho with full view of Peak 29 ahead. You can make a side excursion to Pungen Glacier from here to get a very close up view of Manaslu. Follow the lateral moraine of Pungen Glacier toward Sama. From the village of Sama, it takes another 20 minutes to reach Sama Gompa for over night, . Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 10Rest at Samagaun Rest at Samagaun for acclimatization and also to visit a nice glacier lake called Birendra Tal, on the way to Birendra Tal, visit the oldest monasteries. Opportunity to trek to Manasalu base camp and return to Samagaun which takes about 8 hours return trip

Day 11Samagaun to Stone Hut –Samdo (4,500m) - 4 hrs Today we climb a terraced hill on the opposite bank of Budhi Gandaki River from here towards a most remote permanent settlement - Samdo. Here amid the most sever conditions of nature live some 200 villagers in forty houses. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 12Acclimatization and exploration day in Samdo You will spend a day acclimatizing to the thinning of the air. It is recommended that your body acclimatizes to the high altitude and be adjusted for higher altitudes in the days to follow. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge. There is an opportunity to take a day trip to Tibet Border and return to Samdo for an over night, this day trip takes about 8 hours. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 13Samdo to Dharamsala about 4 hours ( 4460M) Samdo to Dharamsala about 4 hours ( 4460M) and explore around the area, over night at Tented camp or lodge.

Day 14Cross Larkya La (5,215m) and trek to Bhimphedi (3,590m) - 8 hrs We first climb towards Cho Chanda and then slowly head steeply uphill towards the snowed-up pass. From the top the panorama is magnificent: Himlung Himal (7,126m), Cheo Himal (6,820m), Gyagi Kung, Kang Kuru (6,981m) and the Annapurna II (7,937m). The descent is steep, through moraines, towards Bhimphedi. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 15Bhimphedi to Tilje (3,900m) - 5 hrs The route gets easier. We start with a gentle climb through paddy fields towards the small Karcha La pass and descend through fig tree and rhododendron forests to Tilje. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included) Note: you can take Jeep and then bus to Kathmandu from Dharapani, you will trek tilje to Dharapani about 3 hours and then Jeep to Tal, from Tal to Kathmandu the next day. It means you are in Kathmandu on day 15th evening. The trip cost of the remaining days covers the jeep transportation means the cost is the same whether you trek to Besisahar or drive Dharapani to Kathmandu.

Day 16Tilje to Tal (1,725m) - 5 hrs Follow the trail downstream of Marshyangdi River, passing through the scattered villages to reach Tal village for overnight stay. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 17Tal to Jagat (1,300m) - 5 hrs Today the trail runs gently downstream of the river passing the village of Chamje and Himal pani . We will have overnight stay at Jagat. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 18Jagat to Baundanda (1,275m) - 5 hrs Ascending gently for 30 minutes and the trail runs gently down to Sanjee village, then trail goes up for 15 minutes to Gharmuu Phant. From here another 2 hours easy walk and 30 minutes up will take to the village of Bahundanda. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 19Baundanda to Beshisahar - 5 hrs The trail runs gently downstream of the river passing the village of Naadi. From here the trail takes you to the bank of Marshyngdi River and town of Bhulbhule, Khudi all the way to Besisahar. Overnight at tented camps. Or lodge (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 20Drive back from Beshisahar to Kathmandu - 7 hrs A 7-hour drive from Besi Sahar to Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel. (Breakfast and Lunch Included)
