About Trip

Mt. Makalu (8463m) is the fifth highest mountain in the world. It is situated between Everest and Kanchanjunga at Nepali-Tibetan border. Mt. Makalu was first climbed by the French in 1955 .Mt. Makalu expedition begins from Tumlingtar flight, above the Arun River and takes to Mt. Makalu base camp, where the guides fix up the camps and make necessary preparation for mountaineering and helps for acclimatization and waits for the favorite weather for its summit and once everything is ready then out well experienced expedition guide lead you for successful expedition. There are several routes for the expedition but our expedition team leads you through the safe route to reach your destination. The trail usually begins from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and then to Chichila, Num, Yak Kharka and finally at Makalu base camp. The best seasons to have expedition on Mt. Makalu are considered to be April-May and September-October.



Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to airport.

Day 02:Meeting with Nepali Staff & Equipment checking

Day 03:Flight Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and drive to Khadabari (1280 m)

Day 04:Trek Khadabari Drive to Num (1560 m)

Day 05:Trek Num to Sheduwa (1500m)

Day 06:Trek Sheduwa to Tashi Goun (2100m)

Day 07:Trek Tashi Goun to Khongma (3760m)

Day 08:Trek Khongma to Mumbuk (3520m)

Day 09:Trek Mumbuk to Nebe Kharka (4320 m)

Day 10:Trek Nehe Kharka to Makalu BC

Day 11:Rest day at BC

Day 12:Makalu Base Camp to ABC

Day 13-43:Climbing Period

Day 44:Trek BC to Merak

Day 45:Trek Merak to Mubuk

Day 46:Trek Mubuk to Tashigau

Day 47:Trek Tashigau to Num

Day 48:Trek Num to Khadbari

Day 49:Trek Khadbari to Tumlingtar
