The Karnali river in the far west is the longest and largest river in Nepal where rafting is done expedition style. It takes a two day trek from Surkhet in the Terai to arrive at the river. The first ninety km run consists of spectacular landscapes and narrow gorges and some of the most challenging rapids. The remaining ninety offers attractive scenery and wildlife as well as an abundance of fish. This is a remote and pristine rafting destination uninterrupted by human habitation.
